The Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club of Ribblesdale held their first joint fund raising effort on Friday in the RVBC Civic Suite.
The event started out as a “Three Tenors Concert” but was doomed from the beginning. Very unfortunately one Tenor died, the second one went to Australia and the third, who was sharing the bill with the Blackburn People’s Choir, lost his voice at the last minute.
However, it turned out to be a superb evening, the 30 strong Choir delighting the capacity audience with songs from around the world; their obvious enjoyment under their wonderful leader, Jeff Borradaile, infected everybody, especially the audience participation
The magnificent sum of almost £800 was raised for the British Heart Foundation and the East Lancs Hospice.
